Founded in 1800 by William Naish

In 1800 William Naish started his textile business, (E V Naish), manufacturing and supplying wool corduroy to the local farming community. William Naish worked hard to build a reputation of high quality, superior service and unrivalled value for money. E V Naish started quickly gaining a reputation for manufacturing high quality wool to cover piano hammers.

These founding principles remain at the present core of everyday activities within the Naish Felts Group.

In 1994, Naish Felts Ltd was formed and diversified into many different markets, concentrating on supplying cut parts and components produced from wide range of technical textiles. (Felt, Fabric, Leather, Foam, Rubber, Cork, Paper, Plastic and Vinyl PVC).

Over the last 20 years, there has been a significant increase in supply to the automotive which continues to be an important growth market for the company. Commencing in the supply of technical textiles used inside moulded foam seat cushions and seat backs and more recently moving into supplying products that are found in automotive interiors.

Today the company supplies numerous “Tier 1” manufacturers of armrests, headrest, seats, door and instrument panel trim products with fabric, leather and PVC covers for their products. The finished product, (e.g. Complete car headrest assembly), is then sent direct to OEM’s such as the Volkswagen Group, (VW, Audi and Skoda).

Cutting and sewing of the covers now forms a major part of our current business and future growth plans as we look to further develop our product range within this market.

The company continues to have it’s manufacturing roots in Salisbury, United Kingdom, on the site first used by our founders in 1850 but has now expanded operations into Eastern Europe allowing us to supply products all over the world.

The success of the European factory has come mainly by offering the same quality of service, flexibility, product and competitive pricing that we have offered to our long-standing UK customer base. As the automotive industry is a global market our decision to move into mainland Europe was well received and customers both existing and new, had the confidence to add Naish Felts to their supply base.

In summary, from the local family business of E V Naish that was founded more than 200 years ago, today, Naish Felts offer global supply to a wide range of industries.
